This year, the French and Emirati authorities decided to set up the “Emirati French Cultural Programme - Dialogue with the Louvre Abu Dhabi” to accompany the opening of the Abu Dhabi Louvre.

With its 6 oases listed on the UNESCO World Heritage registry, Al Aïn will host a series of cultural events combining the traditions of France and the United Arab Emirates. The cultural programme includes classical and modern music shows, equestrian performing arts, plastic arts and firework displays.

The equerries of the National Equestrian Academy of Versailles travelled to Al Aïn with 30 of their horses to present their flagship show entitled “La Voie de l’écuyer” (Way of the Equerry) inside the Al Jahili Fort.

Designed and directed by Bartabas, this equestrian ballet changes slightly each year, adapting to new horses and riders. For this particular show, the public were treated to a production highlighting Emirati culture and traditional French equestrian arts.

The teams from GL events were commissioned to manage the general contracting for the equestrian show, from the installation of marquees and air-conditioning systems to the audiovsiual services and the management of the teams and horses.
